Well, I wasn't planning on doing a blog for my travels. I was just going to do it the old-school style and write in a journal. I still plan on keeping a journal but I convinced myself to take the challenge and try it out. Might as well. I'm already doing something I never thought I would do and quit my job and travel for as long as I can. Why not keep challenging myself (do I end this sentence with a question mark if it's a rhetorical question?). Decided to go with the period.
Side note: Please cope with my grammatical errors. English was never my strong suit.
So... I begin my travels on May 14th, 2013. I fly from Phoenix to Dublin. I am extremely excited. I'm not really sure what to expect. I have read some interesting things about Dublin and have always wanted to visit. I will be staying at Isaac's Hostel for three nights. I plan on staying with a host family for a week or two after that. Hopefully that all works out. This is how I plan to engulf myself in the native culture.
If anyone has any advice on what to do or what not to do in Dublin, please let me know.
(So far this is weird writing something like I'm going to be reaching out to scores of people and that they will respond).
Anyways...
I have not booked anything else besides that. I will plan as I go. I know that doesn't make the most sense but I have read other blogs and that seems to be something I would like to try. What is the over/under on how this works out? Actually, what is the over/under on how long I can last out there? Indulge me.
I'm literally going for broke! But I'm not scared. That's kinda scary.
Well, that's it for my initial blog post. Wish me luck!
Eric: thanks for your contributions to NUVA - best of luck to you on your world travels... quite the adventure that you are embarking on!

DeleteEric, many of us only dream of doing something so awesome! I am really looking forward to seeing updates of where your adventures take you! Remember to immerse yourself in the different cultures, have fun and make lots of friends along the way. Cheerio my friend! You will be missed!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Michelle! I have no doubt that this will the adventure of a lifetime. KIT!
DeleteEric, I'm just finding out about this and am pleasantly shocked. I want to do this myself someday but with a guitar in hand and writing tunes along the way. In the meantime, I'll live vicariously, learn and be inspired. A big hug to everyone in Phoenix and go with a big appetite for wanderlust.
ReplyDeleteENJOY!!!
